GPRHCS FOCUS IN LAC New Outputs New DRF outcomes Population dynamics and its inter-linkages with young people’s needs, reproductive health, gender equality and sustainable development and poverty reductionaddressed in national development plans and poverty reduction strategies Access to and utilization of quality maternal and newborn health services increased Access and utilization of quality family planning services for individual and couples increased according to reproductive intentions Access and utilization of quality HIV and STI prevention services increased especially for young people and other key populations at risk Gender equality and reproductive rights advanced particularly through laws and policies implementation Young people’saccess to sexual and reproductive health services and sexuality education improved Improvements in data availability and analysis result in improved decision-making and policy formulation around population dynamics, sexual and reproductive health, and gender equality 2. Strengthened the capacity for development of national health policies and plans with integrated SRH services (including family planning) 5. RHCS FORUM LAC SALUD MESOAMERICA 2015 INITIATIVE An innovative public/private partnership which seeks to reduce health equity gaps in Mesoamerica: • RH, nutrition, immunization, malaria dengue. • Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama, nine southeastern states of Mexico • Carlos Slim Institute • Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation • IDB • AECI CALL FOR PROPOSALS • Adolescents RR Monitors • Short Film on RHCS in LAC in the context of ICPD+20 • FP supplybarriers • StrengtheningSelection and Evaluation of EML.

  7. Regional Plan 2012: LAC RO • Sub-regional initiative to incorporate RHCS within the health component of ALBA’s participating countries. (The activity will be organized by UNFPA CO in Cuba with the support of participating country offices) • Implementation of the comprehensive condom demand generation framework (CCP), with special focus on young people and sex workers. • Elaboration of the Regional Humanitarian Logistics Strategy. • Translation of Distance Learning course on RHCS into English and French

Regional Plan 2012: REPROLATINA • BOLIVIA • DOMINICAN REP • EL SALVADOR • HONDURAS • NICARAGUA • PANAMA • PERU • URUGUAY Technical assistance : • Introduce, monitor, and evaluate the FP tools: Decision Making Tool and Global Handbook for Providers. • Consolidate and expand the SRH adolescent programs by a) training of trainers b) Seminar to introduce the scaling up methodology. • Participatory action research to implement integrated health care for adolescents using the WHO priority linkages framework between SRH and HIV/AIDS services • Qualitative research project for evaluating a sex education program in schools.

Regional Plan 2012: PROMSEX FLASOG • ECUADOR • EL SALVADOR • PANAMA • PERU • URUGUAY Advocacy and Technical assistance : • Promoting people’s access to RH and positioning MDG 5 related topic. • Bioethics, values clarifications, and conscientious objection • Strengthening human resources on EmOC • Sensitizing and providing training for the Prevention of Unsafe Abortion and reducing Harm and Risks. • Build arguments and support the introduction of PAE and misoprostol for obstetric use. • Support the development of an Excellence Center for certifying medical skills in Reproductive Health
