  2. Death Penalty Been very controversial topic for decades 1972-1976 death penalty at an halt Believed to be unconstitutional

  3. Wrongful Execution Miscarriage of death when some who is innocent is put to death Often times prisoners are acquitted after sitting on death row for years If one is put to death then later found innocent, how can they be acquitted?

  4. Cruel & Unusual Punishment Death is an unusual severe punishment. Unusual in its pain, finality, and enormity. Punishment by Death treats the human race as non humans, as objects to be toyed with and discarded.

  5. Kill for Killing?

  6. Lethal Injection • Administered 3 different drugs • First- Puts in coma-like state • Second- Paralyzes them • Third- Causes cardiac arrest • Believed to cause no pain • Upon researching, ran across an article stating that sometime during these steps, the prisoner indeed feels some sensation of pain but is paralyzed therefore being incapable to speak

  7. Morality Its wrong. No one should have the power of life and death, including the prisoner but GOD himself Someday they must face their “God” and be judged accordingly

  8. What end are you on? You’re the victims family You’re the prisoners family May have opposed the death penalty before Now, may want the suspect put to death May have been for the death penalty before Now may want their loved ones life spared

  9. Who gets executed? Being executed b/c one is poor is unfair Being executed b/c one is a particular race is unfair Not equal opportunity Will never see an “OJ” in prison, for long at least

  10. Physicians Requiring physicians to participate in executions appears to violate their oath to protect lives and erodes public confidence. Trusted to preserve life Do no harm
