  2. Artist Statement • Photography is something I was always interested and I have learned a lot about it in the past two years. This year I decided to shoot facial expression which expanded into including body expression and props. • I really enjoyed this theme because I love taking portraits and being able to interact with my subject. The goal of my work was to convey the emotion through the photo. I take mostly candid shots of my friends around my neighborhood. I enjoy the style of shooting but sometimes I have difficulty finding a friend to help me. I shoot with a canon rebel digital Xti and convert all my photos to grayscale. I edit all my photos in camera raw and some in photo shop. • I am happy with all my photos that I've printed this year and I am enjoying the constructive criticism. I see myself growing with this project every time I do a new photo shoot. In the future I hope to continue and expand with this theme.

  3. Bio • Carissa Edwards was born January 1, 1995. She is currently a sophomore at El Camino High and is in her second year of photography. She has always loved photography but really got into it in 8th grade after her brother started taking the class and telling her about it. Carissa is working on a facial expressions project in school and enjoys photographing nature on her own time. She plans to continue photographing all the way through college.
