  1. BSUIR University Library: information support for the learning and research needs of the University Community

  2. Efficient on-the-spot information support of research and education activities is the University Library’s main task.

  3. Caring for our soon-to-be IP and radioelectronics engineers, the Library: - creates and provides access to various electronic resources, - introduces new technologies in its activities, - expands its services.

  4. As a part of active education and research activities, the Library offers: 3 delivery desks, 5reading halls, Electronic library, Information and study center of electronic resources and services, Room of standard technical documentation, 40 reading rooms and departments.

  5. Students have access to various resources and services: • Library web-site; • electronic catalogue; • bibliographical and full-text databases; • electronic documentdelivery service; • virtual reference service.

  6. Library web-site:http://library.bsuir.by/index.jspis an integral part of the education activities and contains information on all resources and services provided by the Library.

  7. “МАРК-SQL” system is used to automate Library processes. Document search is available from the user’s desk

  8. and 24 hours a day via the Internet.

  9. With the“МАРК-SQL” system, Library officers are updating electronic library catalogues and bibliographic databases with material related to the University disciplines, including: • “Informatics and Radioelectronics” • “Proceeding of BSUIR officers” • “Dissertations and dissertation abstracts” • “Reports on research activities” • “About the Republic of Belarus” • “Economics” • “Political Studies” • “State Standards” • “Electronic documents” • and other.

  10. To facilitate academic activity, Library officers organize full-text databases: • “Electronic Discipline Learning Packages”; • “BSUIR courseware”; • “Reports on research papers”; • “Master dissertations”.

  12. The process of Electronic Learning Package(ELP) production includes research and technical levels, which both meet the up-to-date requirements of information and communication technologies.

  13. All the courseware materials published by BSUIR are delivered to the Library from the Publishing Division in electronic format and stored in appropriate databases. “Courseware” database

  14. Library pool is continuously updated with electronic study guides, reference books, encyclopedias and databases.

  15. Library visitors have access to the world-renowned full-text databases from EBSCO company.

  16. Access is possible via the Virtual Reading Hall of the National Library.

  17. University students and officers have access to the free service of electronic document delivery on the basis of up-to-date telecommunication facilities.

  18. “Ask The Librarian” virtual help desk is functioning on the Library web-site, which provides better and swifter services for the visitors. The virtual help desk operates real-time inquiries by remote users, seeking information in various fields.

  19. Library visitors are provided with authorized free access to global information resources:

  23. Visitors may leave their comments and suggestions regarding the Library functions, services and resources by completing the “User’s Questionnaire”.
