  2. Today oil and natural-gas consumptions are outpacing the U.S. • The reason for this is: • Higher living standards • Growing economy • Population increase (demand rise) The Problem

Was produced in 2001 by the group chaired by FORMER Vice- President Dick Cheney. • The problem established in this Policy is in the next 20 years: • Oil consumptions will increase by 30% • Natural-gas consumption will increase by 50% • Electricity demand will rise 455 The National Energy Policy Report

Opening new ANWR and offshore locations to oil and gas exploration and production. • Adding new coal-fired electricity power plants. • Transferring oil from Alaska to the United States • Providing support for the efforts of other countries developing their oil and gas resources and pipeline. How they would resolve the problem

  5. We need to realize that energy has no real meaning or value by itself • It only worth is in the work it can do. • All we want from these non-renewable resources is comfortably of are homes, transportation, manufactured goods. Demand-Side Polices

  6. Supply-side polices, especially those with fossil-fuels are “bussiness-as-usuals”. • They usually do little or nothing to reduce: • Oil price disruptions • Terrorist actions • Global climate change Supply – Side Policies

  7. The NEPR was assembled by FORMER Vice-president Dick Cheney in 2001 • The report tackled the problem of the rising demand of resources. • Their resulted conclusion was to open and drill for more oil • Which will resolve in more global warming. Summary
