  5. Air is heated at the equator, then cooled at the N and S poles of the earth. • Cool air travels along surface of Earth from poles to equator • warm air rises toward the poles.

  6. Things aren’t always what they seem • The water and wind’s direction is bent towards the equator because of the spin of the earth. • This is called the Coriolus effect
