  5. Resource Project Rationale – Problem: How to more rapidly accelerate the transition to a sustainable and desirable future? Solution: Create a dynamic, adaptive global learning space that mobilizes, empowers, and nurtures HESD change agents

Project Goals • Facilitate higher education’s contribution to the Decade of ESD (2005-2014) • Identify and support a network of scholars and change agents focused on HESD • Provide resources and tools to support HESD through an interactive website, print materials, and other media • Review and conduct major research/ scholarship on HESD and critical ESD issues • Provide professional development and training

Project Priorities • Further develop and support a moderated e-community of practice • Review on how academic disciplines have incorporated SD concepts and methods in diverse national curricula and university settings • Develop case study criteria and cases on all areas of university activity • Develop online campus sustainability assessment tool and CSA reporting framework
