  4. This information session does not take the place of the annual Promotion & Tenure workshops designed to give in-depth guidance on policy and procedure

Pilot Program • UF Tenure, Promotion & Permanent Status process unchanged • Criteria, guidelines, timelines, and policy strictly followed (same as for Candidates not in pilot) • Unit policies remain the same Promotion & Tenure Guidelines and further information can be found at http://www.aa.ufl.edu/tenure/

  11. Security Roles • Security Roles to be requested by your DSA: • UF_HR_OPT Dept Admin • UF_HF_OPT Dept Chair • UF_HR_OPT College Admin • UF_HR_OPT College Dean • Faculty members do not need security roles to access the system

  16. Process Overview • Today we will look at the roles involved with promotion and tenure • Let’s look at a brief overview of the onlineprocess…

  17. OPT Department Admin • Enters Candidate details, adds documents, reviews and certifies Packet. • Opens Packet for submission. Identifies Dept Review Committee and Chair/Director (and Designee). Faculty Candidate engages in every stage of the process! • Department Reviewers • Reviews (online) and assessment (offline). • Department Chair/Director (& Designee) • Reviews Packet. • Adds evaluative letter and endorsement recommendation. • OPT College Admin • Reviews Packet, can add documents via Section 33 - Further Information. • Identifies College Review Committee and Dean/Director (and Designee). • College Review Committee • Reviews (online) and assessment (offline). • College Dean/Director (& Designee) • Reviews Packet. • Adds evaluative letter and endorsement recommendation.

  18. Final Review & Decisions • Following Dean’s endorsement… • Packet moves to University Admin • Decision for Promotion advised (by letter) by the President • Recommendation for Permanent Status or Tenure decided by University Board of Trustees and advised (by letter) by the President

  19. Demonstration • In today’s session we will use UPK (User Productivity Kit) which: - Is a web-based training tool - Provides instructions as you go It’s like working on the real system with the added feature of being guided through the task!
