Location • 10 yurts with a total capacity of 180 • Commercial Kitchen / Rec hall • Health Center • Recreation lodge & Game room • Little league grade baseball/softball field • All purpose athletic field • Full-court blacktop basketball court • High ropes challenge course & low ropes teambuilding course • 50’ climbing tower • 40 acre Lake Hamilton – Canoeing and kayaking, aqua-park, fishing, water trampoline • 400 foot Zipline • Ga-ga court • Campfire circle

Yurt Housing • Despite being called 4th grade’s “camping trip,” students will be sleeping indoors, in yurts and in beds. • Students will stay in cabins, called Yurts. • Bunk beds only have mattresses. • Students need to bring blankets and • Pillows. • Each cabin will have about 10 -12 students. • Students will share a community bathroom • Includes toilets and showers. • Students should also bring toiletries • and towels.

  6. Why should your child go? • Your child will come away with an increased awareness of the environment and human interactions with them. • It prepares students for future traveling at AGC – • Out of city -> out of state -> out of the country (by 8th grade)! • Brings our Units of Inquiry (and past units) to life with hands on experiences. • Gives students the opportunity to develop deeper relationships with their peers and teachers. • Safety will always be our #1 priority! • A memorable experience your child will talk about for years!

What WE like about camp manitowa… • Students will come away from their experience with a greater awareness of environment, each other, and themselves. • Students will participate in community building activities. • They provide hands on experiences, interactive activities, and students learn through inquiry and explorations. • Students will gain more independence and become risk-takers! • This facility/program is very accommodating to our AGC “needs.”

  11. Cost *This is about $170 per student

  12. Fundraising • We will need to fundraise – we are looking to parents for support. • In the past we have done: • Raffles! – families were asked to sell X amount of tickets per raffle • donated gift cards, gift packages, activity packages (i.e. Bowling Party, Spa package, etc) for raffles • School Dance- AGUA dance • Fundraising at AGC events • 4th grade can host events – ideas?

  13. Fundraising Action Plan • We will host the first fundraising meeting November 6th. • Our hope is to have an action plan by this time. • Parents who are interested in being part of the Fundraising Committee can discuss next steps • Our goal is to have fundraised all our money by March 31st

  14. Chaperones • We are taking 8 chaperones on this trip = 1 adult to every 4 Children (also consider there will be more staff at the location) • This includes Mr. Thompson, Ms. Balderas, Ms. Krzyzanowski, and Ms. Lopez, Mr. Caspers, Mr. Danny Ms. Gomez. • Taking chaperones that are teachers ensures that all students are being equally looked after; after all, safety is our #1 priority! • No parent chaperones
