  4. Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) It is, till now, the most developed modality of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART). It opened widely the door to great hope in cases of sever male infertility. The first IVF baby born by this procedure was in 1992. In which: a single sperm injected directly into the oocyte by a micromanipulation device.

  5. Indications: Severe: Oligospermia?, Asthenospermia?, Teratospermia? Crypreserved? small amount of spermatozoa (cancer patients). Fertilization failure after Conventional IVF ? Ejaculatory disorders ? Non-Obstructive Azoospermia ? Obstructive Azoospermia ? Frequent failure of other modalities of treatment. Unexplained infertility not respond to other options. PGS ?

  6. -Steps of ICSI- 1. Superovulation and oocyte retrieval.

  7. 2. Oocyte preparation and assessment of quality. Mature oocyteNormal Oocyte with granulosa cells

  8. 3. Semen preparation and sperm choosing. ICSI requires only one single viable spermatozoon, preferably of good morphology that is selected by the embryologist and injected in each oocyte available.
