  6. 1st step: Reduce sewage streams by saving water ! ! 2nd step: Separate sewage streams ! 3rd step: Close the nutrient cycle with Black water ! 4th step: Clean and recycle grey water locally ! ... leapfrog the age of sewage pipes !

  7. The first step:REDUCE SEWAGE STREAMS BY SAVING WATER !

  11. Separate sewage water flows: Black water / grey water CHP = combined heat and power

  12. Proper separation of Black water from Grey water prevents infection ! CHP = combined heat and power

  13. The third step:CLOSE THE NUTRIENT CYCLE WITH BLACK WATER !

  15. Urine and excrements as fertilisers • Urine and excrement matter contain low levels of heavy metals • Hygienic quality can be achieved by proper handling • Organic micropollutants are degraded in soil systems and/or in biogas plants
