Giulio Gianini b. 1927and Emmanuale Luzzati b. 1921 Luzzatti worked as a painter, theatre set designer, ceramist, draughtsman, building stage sets and designing costumes for some of the most important national and international theatre companies. illustrated books by Gianni Rodari, Italo Calvino and Grimm Brothers. • Together with Giulio Gianini he has made several cartoon films awarded with Oscars Luzzati makes the sets and characters Gianini directs the animation subjects chosen together, drawn from the "commedia dell’arte", fables and musical comedy

He has also illustrated numerous children's books. He designed decorative panels, embossments and wall hangings for the ships Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Ausonia and Marco Polo. • 1975 with Tonino Conte and Aldo Trionfo, he founded a theatre called Teatro della Tosse in Genoa which is still running today.

Yuri Norstein b.1941 • 1979 Tale of Tales widely regarded as Norstein's masterpiece and is the result of his third collaboration with Yarbusova and Zhokovsky, who photographed houses and old cars in the Moscow neighbourhood where Norstein had grown up. 1984 an international panel of animation experts proclaimed Tale of Tales the best animated film of all time.
