Collections Architecture________________________________________________ Collections • Fedora + VITAL (VTLS) • Combination of open-source development coupled with vendor support. • Fedora promises greater flexibility, versatility, ability to communicate with external systems and opportunities for future development. • Vendor support and enhancements offset our level-of-effort and jump-start the DRS. Time Line________________________________________________ Collections • May 24/25:Training • June: Configuration options, test ingests, batch load configuration, collection preparation, re-book requirements defined. • July:Throughout month re-books re-loaded several times as we worked though the content model. Finding Aids and StatCat requirements defined. • Aug:Vital release upgrade; Re-books review/report; Finding aids loads started; Re-book beta at the end of the month. • Sept: Finding aids review/report; Finding aids beta; StatCat started; Re-book assessment and requirements revision. • Oct: Repeat from July. New collections from Working Group. 15 August 2007
