Slave auctions explanation

Slave auctions explanation

What is a slave auction?

Well a slave auction is pretty much what it

sounds like. It is and auction where a slave gets

bought or where slaves get traded. Slave auctions

were the main reason of splitting up a slave

family. Many slaves would try to run away with

their families so they wouldn’t be split apart.

Slave auctions

Slave auctions

Slave auctions is a big part in the story A Day of

Tears. There is two different kinds of slave

auctions. One is called “grab and go” is where a

slave buyer would give the slave trader a certain

amount of money and he would get a ticket in

return for the slave. The other kind of slave

auctions is called “may the biggest bidder win”

which is where a slave buyer bids the highest

amount of money possible and whoever manages

to bid the highest gets the slave.

Under ground railroad

Under ground railroad

What is the under ground railroad?

.The underground railroad was neither “underground” or a “railroad”. It got its name because it depended on secret “railroad” codes to let passengers know they were in danger. The underground railroad was a set of routes that started in the South, went through the North, and ended in Canada.
