  2. Brief background of the Kakadu national Park. • Kakadu National Park is in the Northern Territory of Australia • Kakadu National Park is famous for Water buffalos • About 74 mammalspecies—marsupials and placental mammals—have been recorded in the Park. • Kakadu’s many habitats support more than 280 species of birds, or about one-third of Australia’s bird species. • 117 species of reptiles have been recorded in Kakadu • Kakadu’s 25 frog species are extremely well adapted to the region’s climatic extremes • Fifty-three species of freshwater fish have been recorded in Kakadu’s waterways • And Even More………….

  3. Explanation of Native flora and fauna and how it helps nourish and preserve the national park. • The plant and animal life in Kakadu is its greatest appeal for many visitors, and those with a particular interest in nature tend to schedule their holidays for the rainy season when the wildlife is at its liveliest. Birds arrive in their millions and fill the trees while for many of the 60 different species of mammal resident in the park, it's mating season. Visitors can expect a cacophony of sounds. The waterfalls benefit from the rains and are at their most spectacular at this time.

  4. A detailed analysis of Introduced species. • One of the big affecters at Kakadu are the water Buffalo • Asian water Buffalo were introduced into Northern Australian Settlements Between the 1820s and 1840s. • As these settlements were Abandoned the buffalo were released And quickly spread across the lowlands of the alligator rivers region. • Other animals include feral pigs, cats ,dogs , horses and cane toads.

  5. How introduced species have damaged the national park with specific reference to local flora and fauna. • FAUNA. Asian Water Buffalo cause pain in a number of ways so as pigs horses and etc. Their enormous size, weight and impenetrable hooves compact the soil and make plants die, causing erosion. Their habit of wallowing erodes river banks and muddies the water, making it unsuitable for many aquatic plants and animals. They eat a lot of grass and other plants, trying to compete with other animals.

  6. Flora Flora Barringtonia actuangula ( Fresh Water Mangrove plant). A small, spreading tree that grows on the banks of freshwater creeks, rivers and swamps. People call it the itchy tree: small caterpillars feed on the leaves during the wet season and localised skin irritation if touched. Basically Kakadu has many plants that have adapted to for a long time and plants that animals have avoided if introduced species come they can eat there plants and the colony will die out

  7. What have been some government initiatives to help overcome the problems of introduced species + Kill out introduced species + High security on people + Poison
