  1. Challenging the future of Pakistan LEAPING AHEAD Sarmast Bilawal Khuhro ShahzamanMurtaza Khuhro Pakistan

  2. BACKGROUND • In recent years Pakistan has been troubled by terrorism and has been portrayed as an extremist country to the world and not only that harsh political conditions have also contributed to the downfall of development. • Investment from foreign Investors has decreased. • Education standards have declined and basic education by the lower class is not accessible. • Industries are shifting to neighbor countries due to the political and law and order crisis. • Fresh graduates, due to the lack of vision and faith and poor knowledge about resource and opportunities in Pakistan decide to go abroad thus causing a great brain drain • And those who can’t afford to go, are merely left with no choices which encourages them to adopt wrong means to earn their living which gives birth to corruption and exploitation of our work force.

  3. What are the main causes? -Economic reasons: our economy is in doldrums, which causes imbalance in the society, rich are getting richer and poor are getting poorer. A wide gap in the social class is creating disparity in the society. New industries are not being installed, old industries are shifting to neighboring countries. Following figures will help us understand it better: GDP growth : 3.7 % (2012) 3.1% (2012) not a significant growth trend Per capita : 2900 $ (2012) 2800 $ (2012) inflation has also increased Labor Force 60.3 million ( but mostly underutilized or misutilized) Unemployment rate : 5.6 % (2012) Mostly people are employed in small jobs, which are not sufficient to feed their families) -POLITICAL UNSTABILITY -TERRORISM

  4. Why are we lagging behind? What are the main problems? 1- Focus of the current government is not to improve the basic living condition of people, basic necessities of life are not provided to people, education is not available to major chunk of the population, due to poor economic conditions most of our youth is not able to continue their education and hence they end up doing very small paid jobs or they are just left to nothing which provokes them to adopt wrong means of living. 2- Technology is ignored, new advancements of technology are not adopted by our decision makers due to vested interests 3- Pakistan has a great potential but the country is surrounded by problems like law and order situation in the main business hubs of the country, instability in the economic arena, political instability and terrorism have barred us from progressing up to the mark.

  5. Our concept • Two parts : employment for the uneducated and unskilled employment for the educated and skilled Employment for the uneducated and unskilled: we have already established a small ngo, where we request fresh graduates to teach as a volunteer in schools for unprivileged kids and youth in the villages and suburban towns. we are setting up a town in the suburbs of Karachi, where we will set up a technical training school along with small cottage industries. with the help of our NGO and organistions like Street workout federation, we will give chance to the street kids and unemployed youth to seek education in our school and after their graduation we will employ them in our cottage industries. This will give a boost to our economy and this will generate employment.

  6. Our concept: • for the educated and skilled: • Fresh graduates are difficulty to find jobs in our country, and those who want to start their own business are not able to get loans from the banks and are not able to generate funds. • Hence we are introducing technology here and creating a website, which is not only a job portal but also a platform for the people with bright ideas and investors. • The next slide will explain how the website will work

  7. HOW WILL THE WEBSITE WORK ? The website will consist of following parts: 1- the main user (students) guide support Opportunities already Online Jobs 2- Companies 3- entrepreneurs The students would submit their cv’s and update the progress report of current university they are enrolled in (officially by universities) The guide support would encourage and guide on the job trend and suggest jobs that will interest the students (chosen by their co- curriculum activities and majors in subjects) Opportunities already team would list all the available opportunities in country and help select the proper job Online Job support will look for online jobs available and those that can be availed by students as according to their cv would be suggested to respective students

  8. COMPANY USER • The company users would enlist their companies • Their main goals, their environment in the company and complete portfolio on the website • Interested companies would also be allowed to take a look at the cv’s and pick students as according to their needs • Entrepreneurs • This is the also most important section • In this section, all the entrepreneurs who have ideas for new businesses would be combined • Great minds think alike. Those people who have common ideas can interact with each other and come up with a joint venture • This section will also provide help to those with financial support but no idea, they can pick ideas by permission and invest in them

  9. Acquiring of finances to kick start? For the School and cottage industries: we are planning to raisie funds through charity balls, concerts and social events. We are seeking help from Government and ministry of industry. And hopefully approved by CF we will take into whole new level FOR THE WEBSITE This project needs very little initial investment and has a vast and great impact on the future and growth of Pakistan on tremendous levels • A team to run the management part • A website designer would be needed to set up a website • A university student would be approached to design an app for phones and his name would also be put into credentials • University’s would be approached for students cv and official information • Visit to different companies and presentations would be done to reach out them • this project would also attract online advisement and would soon be self revenue generation

  10. Results and expected outcomes • this is one of its kind project in Pakistan, which will revolutionize the lives of youth and will give a boost to our economy. • Hours we will spend : • 10 hours a day in a 6 day week = 60 hours a week and 1800 hours a month. • Number of beneficiaries: • We are planning to inculcate 500 youth for the school and almost 50000 people will benefit from the website. • Number of people engaged in the project: • We have a team of 20 main team members for the project who are also the member of our ‘taleem’ network. • 20 members will work on the website and will also be working on our school and industry project. • Once the school is setup we have workers and helper who will be approximately 50 in number.
