  1. Green Energy Management Systems (G.E.M.S) AmeyRane MadhurSrivastava TejasPandit Varun Sivakumar

  2. Safety & Reliability Issues • Safety – • Don’t want to electrocute users • Don’t want to harm connected appliances • Reliability – • RF Reliability Issues (interference, etc) • Sensor failures

  3. Components • Linx Transceiver (TRM-315-LT) • Freescale Micro-Controller (MC9S12A512) • Fairchild Semi-ConductorVoltage Regulator (7805)

  4. Linx Transceiver

  5. Freescale Micro-Controller

  6. Voltage Regulator

  7. Criticality Levels • Low: The management system no longer works. The data may not be collected/displayed correctly or valid and the user may not be able to send commands. • Medium: The devices plugged into our adapter may not be provided correct voltage/current and they may not function. • High: Devices or Users may be harmed.

  8. FMECA Table • Still being made

  9. Risk Mitigation • Fuses at source and at solid state relays • Ground body of adapters • SSRs offer improved system reliability because they have no moving parts or contacts to degrade • Checks for validity of communication
