  6. “As individuals, groups, and businesses, we’re often so busy cutting through the undergrowth we don’t even realize we’re in the wrong jungle. 17. “Were the members of the church consecrated to God, were they in the unity of the Spirit, in the bond of peace, were they organized for the purpose of imparting to others an influence of good, the church would be indeed the light of the world. Should the individual members seek to represent Christ to the world in character and life, thousands would be attracted to the Saviour, who now have reason to criticize the words and works of those who profess the name of Christ.” Ye Shall Receive Power, 347

  18. Become A People Magnet • Consecrated to God • Unity of the Spirit • Organized for soul-winning • Seek to represent Christ in character

  19. Holistic Stewardship “Money, time, influence—all the gifts they have received from God’s hand, they will value only as a means of advancing the work of the gospel. Thus it was in the early church; and when in the church of today it is seen that by the power of the Spirit the members have taken their affections from the things of the world, and that they are willing to make sacrifices in order that their fellow men may hear the gospel, the truths proclaimed will have a powerful influence upon the hearers.” Acts of the Apostles, 71

  20. 2. No Compelling Vision Thinking too small; no need for more workers, vision based on man’s ability not God’s power.

  21. Vision Clarity People want to know where they are going before they will follow. People want to know that their leader is confident of where he is going and how he will get them there.

  22. A Compelling Vision • “Why would God send more people to our church if we don’t have a great dream. Why would God give a multi-gifted, multi-talented, and financially wealthy person to a church if the biggest thing you are going to do is paint the restrooms next year.” John Maxwell • “God gives us resources according to our dreams and according our obedience.” John Maxwell

  23. Often we wait for Great Opportunities to come while daily Small Opportunities parade by. • God blesses us according to our faithfulness in the small things. • Growth is a matter of faithfulness.

  31. Irresistible Influential "Character is power. The silent witness of a true, unselfish, godly life carries an almost irresistible influence. By revealing in our own life the character of Christ we co-operate with Him in the work of saving souls. It is only by revealing in our life His character that we can co-operate with Him...

  32. ...And the wider the sphere of our influence, the more good we may do. When those who profess to serve God follow Christ's example, practicing the principles of the law in their daily life; when every act bears witness that they love God supremely and their neighbor as themselves, then will the church have power to move the world." God's Amazing Grace, 231

  33. 2. Invest Deeply In Others • Teach, Mentor, and Coach others who can have a broad influence • 2 Timothy 2:2 “the things that you have heard from me…commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”

  36. 4. Time Management • Get The Big Rocks In First!! • Scheduling is critical • Roles to goals: • Husband, Father, Coach, Teacher, Leader • Goals to Calendar • Yearly goals & results • Monthly SMART goals

  42. A Uniting Influence • “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:3 • “Union is strength; division is weakness. When those who believe present truth are united, they exert a telling influence. Satan well understands this. Never was he more determined than now to make of none effect the truth of God by causing bitterness and dissension among the Lord’s people.” – 5T 236.2
