Literature Review • Article 1 • Title: Age differences in online social • networking – A study of user profiles • and the social capital divide among • teenagers and older users in • MySpace. • Objective: To investigate age differences and • similarities in the use of the social • network site, MySpace. • Finding: Teenagers make more use of different • media compared to older MySpace users.

Article 3 • Title: Taking risky opportunities in youthful content creation: teenagers’ use of social networking sites for intimacy, privacy and self expression. • Objectives: • 1) To explores teenagers’ practices of social networking in order to uncover the subtle connections between online opportunity and risk. • 2) To contrasts teenagers’ graded conception of ‘friends’ with the binary classification of social networking sites • Findings • Selves are constituted through interaction with others and, for today’s teenagers, selfactualization increasingly includes a careful negotiation between the opportunities and risks afforded by internet-mediated communication.
