  2. Pass in Review A review consist of the following steps in sequence Formation of troops Presentation of command and honors Inspection Honors to the nation Remarks March in review Conclusion

  4. A B C D Formation of troops When instructed the unit commanders (in sequence from right to left) march their units to the ready line. ready line final line

  5. A B C D Formation of troops When all units are on the ready line, the adjutant reports to the Commander of troops “Sir, the command is formed.” final line Adjutant Commander of troops

  6. A B C D Formation of troops The adjutant takes a position with the staff officers. The Commander of troops directs the units to Parade, REST and then directs them to ATTENTION before the reviewing officer’s arrival. Staff Officers Commander of troops

  7. A B C D Presentation and Honors When the reviewing officer is at his post, the commander of troops directs the units commanders to give their unit Present Arms. Commander of troops Reviewing Officer

  9. A B C D Presentation and Honors Upon completion of the presentation and/or honors, the commander of troops commands the unit commanders to give their units Order Arms and Parade Rest. Commander of troops Reviewing Officer

  10. A B C D Inspection The reviewing officer moves forward and halts in front of the commander of troops. The commander of troops salutes and reports “Sir, The command is prepared for inspection.” Commander of troops Reviewing Officer

  11. A B C D Inspection The commander of troops guides the reviewing party to the right flank unit and an inspection is completed Direction of inspection party Reviewing Party

  12. A B C D Honors to the Nation When the reviewing party members have returned to their post, the commander of troops directs the units to ATTENTION and PRESENT ARMS. Commander of troops Reviewing Officer

  13. A B C D Honors to the Nation The reviewing party and all military spectators salute while the National Anthem is being played. Commander of troops Reviewing Officer

  14. A B C D Honors to the Nation Upon completion of the National Anthem, the commander of troops directs the unit commanders to give their units ORDER ARMS and PARADE REST. Commander of troops Reviewing Officer

  15. A B C D Remarks After the commander of troops has assumed parade rest, the reviewing officer, the host or host commander, or the distinguished guest may address the command. Commander of troops Reviewing Officer

  16. A B C D March in Review Upon completion of the remarks, the commander of troops directs the units to BRING YOUR UNITS TO ATTENTION. Commander of troops Reviewing Officer

  17. A B C D March in Review The host or host commander directs PASS IN REVIEW. The commander of troops then directs PASS IN REVIEW Commander of troops Reviewing Officer

  18. A B C D March in Review The commander on the right commands Right turn, MARCH. Each unit commander follows the unit to their right. Commander of troops Reviewing Officer

  19. A B C D March in Review The commander of troops and his staff moves forward and executes turning movements to get in front of the units that are passing in review. Reviewing Officer

  20. A B C D March in Review As each unit passes the reviewing officer, the commander give the command EYES, RIGHT. All members of the unit look to the right, except members of the right file, who continue to look straight ahead. Reviewing Officer

  21. A B C D March in Review When the unit is 6 steps beyond the reviewing officer, the commander give the command READY FRONT. All members of the unit turn their head and eyes to the front. Reviewing Officer

  22. Conclusion When the troop element has passed the reviewing stand the official version of “The Army Goes Rolling Along,” is played. At it’s completion, the commander of troops and the reviewing officer face each other and exchange salutes, this officially terminating the ceremony.
