Definition of Terms Myth:a traditional or legendary story, usually concerning some being or hero or event, with or without a determinable basis of fact or a natural explanation, especially one that is concerned with deities or demigods and explains some practice, rite, or phenomenon of nature. Legend:a non historical or unverifiable story handed down by tradition from earlier times and popularly accepted as historical.

Superstition:a belief or notion, not based on reason or knowledge, in or of the ominous significance of a particular thing, circumstance, occurrence, proceeding, or the like. Lore:the body of knowledge, especially of a traditional, anecdotal, or popular nature, on a particular subject..

  20. Fable:a story not founded on fact. Conspiracy Theory:the idea that many important political events or economic and social trends are the products of secret plots that are largely unknown to the general public.
