  1. LOTUS Veggie Club “A community that grows together, stays together!”

  2. Aims • To have access to fresh, organically grown vegetables and spices. (Maybe with minimum chemicals used) • To give residents an experience of a large kitchen garden. • To use the compost generated from the kitchen waste. Ask not what your community can do for you, but what you can do for your community

Membership • Open to all residents: Owners or Tenants of Villas. • Membership by paying a fixed amount of Rs 60 for a period of 3 months (Roughly the time for many plants to mature) • Entitles members to share the produce equally • Earnings of the club will be invested in seeds. • Till date we have collected about Rs 250 • Have spent Rs 150 on seeds • Contact Samiksha in #6B to join • Membership begins 1st June Ask not what your community can do for you, but what you can do for your community

Three month plan • Over the next three months (June July Aug) we expect to grow the following: • Methi • Cabbage • Cauliflower • Pumpkin • Radish • Arbi • Spring Onions • Tomatoes • Green chillies • If you have more suggestions on what can be grown, please do let us know. Donations of seeds are welcome too.  Ask not what your community can do for you, but what you can do for your community

  5. Drip Irrigation • We also plan to install drip irrigation in the vegetable garden area to conserve manpower and save water. This will be funded from the money we collect through the membership. It is estimated to cost us approximately Rs 30 per running metre. Ask not what your community can do for you, but what you can do for your community
