Celebrations YPP students accessing the GTI 40% of YPP students are dual enrolled and taking one or more classes at comprehensive high schools Dual enrollment with home high school allowing participation extra curricular activities Students earning CDA certification at YPP YPP students accessing online and blended Granite Connection High courses; some graduating early Numerous YPP students have returned to home high schools to graduate

  3. Recommendation Physically relocating the Young Parent Program to the Granite Connection location will allow non-traditional students even greater access to flexible learning options.

Enhanced ServicesAvailable when located at Granite Connection • Career Center on site • Proximity to GTI – greater access • Dual enrollment option with transportation to all comprehensive high schools • Student may split day AM/PM with any comprehensive high school • Student may split A day/B with any comprehensive high school • Granite Connection Individualized Learning Lab on site • Potential for extended day • Home Hospital Counselor on site • Library/computer labs –technology support person on site • ELL classes on site • Special Education classes on site • Auditorium/gym • GED Academy options/Adult Education transition • Additional security

  6. Young Parent Program Budget • Contract Payroll $800,000 • 7.67 FTE Teachers • 1.0 Administrator • 1.0 Counselor • Hourly Payroll = $186,000 • Hourly Paraeducators (Child Care/Preschool) = $168,000 • Hourly Office = $18,000 • Supplies, Etc. • Supplies = $9,500 • TOTAL = $ 995,500

  7. Proposed New Budget • Contract Payroll $165,000 • 1.0 FTE Teacher (creating an extended day option) • 1.0 FTE Counselor (assist young parent addition) • Hourly Payroll = $168,000 • Hourly Paraeducators (Child Care/Preschool) • Supplies, Etc. • Supplies = $9,500 • Total = $ 342,500

  8. Why This Works: Granite Connection High has 17.5 FTE Enrollment varies throughout the year from 200-300 students Additional 75 students raises class average to 15
