  2. Who is the BVA • Barrington Village Association • 13 year old organization • Representing Homeowners in the downtown historic district • Slogan: “Bringing Neighbors together” • Farmers Market • Uncork Barrington

  3. What is a Kris Kringle Fest • Specialized retail vendors: Ornaments, scarves, hand-crafted items • Music & Entertainment • Activities for families and young children • Night time Glogg fest and Brewery fest • Highly decorated winter wonderland • Magical

Blackboard Concepts • 1st weekend of December 2013 • Friday, Saturday, and Sunday event • Location: Park Avenue(east of Cook) and adjoining parking lot (farmers market location) • Daytime: Family fun, music, market, Food, drink and activities. • Nighttime: adult fun and entertainment—Market, gloggfest, and live music • Alliances with many organizations in the entire region

Required Leadership • 10 man leadership and steering committee • 3 provided by BVA including • Chairman: Doug Skor • Committee leads • Compliance and Regulation –village, State, liquor license, Insurance • Sponsorship and Alliance • Site design and Layout Management – coordinating all hardware on site • Day of Management group: Volunteer recruiting, assignment, recruitment, and management. Scheduling and timing • Music and talent section and coordination • Food and Vendor selection • Marketing Management: website, signage, advertising, print materials, etc.

Success • Developing a solid business model • Capital • Targeting reasonable expectations on first year’s objectives • Long-term village signature event • Pulls from communities well Barrington • First class event • Imagination, Hard work, and commitment • Alliances with as many groups in around the village • Attention to details

  8. Who Brings what to the table? • BVA Rotary • Capital • Leadership • Experience in running big events • 3 member team • 7 member team • Connections to the business community • Well-organized group

What does BVA want? • Long-term relationship based upon integrity • Partner that can be relied upon • Share the wealth with other NFP’s in the community (As we already do with Uncork) • Continue to build meaningful signature events that add to our communities character • Continue to build our purse and expand in to additional programs that support’s our community
