    4. Good writers read.. In school, we only have time to read books that bite and sting…if the books that we read do not wake us with a blow to the head, what’s the point in reading? A book must be the axe, which smashes the frozen sea within us. Pie Corbett – Good writers

Visit Prompt Summer Term – Visit 5 (0.5 day with each teacher) Focussed support for teachers through use of coaching model through: Collaborative planning with a focus on the next steps using the Primary Framework; Use of pupil writing targets to focus teaching and learning and sharpen guided writing; Joint teaching and evaluation of a guided writing session; Support with identified aspects of teaching and learning: guided writing, shared writing; Reviewing pupil tracking data as appropriate; Ensuring the effective use of steps in learning materials while planning jointly; Ensuring that pedagogy examples are informing teaching and learning where appropriate.

    17. Reviewing progress Work with the teacher to plan effective guided writing; Review tracking data; Review progress made by all pupils including those who received one to one tuition. Feedback from Headteacher Discuss the impact of ECaW (what has worked well); Agree how the support modelled by the Lead Teacher will be cascaded to other staff. Summer Term – Visit 5

Intervention Further funding to support the development of Y3/4 QFT - Ł396 to each school (Every Child funding) in 2011-2012 schools budget Use of Quest programme - is it being used, if appropriate? 1:1 tuition – have all six places been allocated? who is delivering tuition? Copy of ITP and a completed Pupil Passport requested from each school

    19. One-to-One Tuition Training for 1:1 Tutors (05/05/11 Over Community Centre) Identification of children on data sheet with number of hours

    20. Y3/4 Teachers Confidence Survey and/or Sunshine Diagram Notes from School Review Meeting – some of the monitoring and evaluation needs to be done by the school prior to your final visit. Summer Visit – Reviewing ECaW
