  3. All SJL members heading to We Day on October 8th need to attend this meeting! Bus information and details will be shared. See Ms. Anderson or Mr. Longie with any questions! We Day details will be shared! Social Justice League Thursday October 3rd at 7:10am Room 217 – Ms. Anderson

  4. Homecoming Week at DQ! • Stop at DQ this week, wear your homecoming costume and receive 10% off your order!

  5. HHS Homecoming 2013 “Bold in Gold” • Homecoming Dress-Up Days • All clothing must meet HHS Dress Code and be in good taste. Remember you must wear shoes! No hats! • Costume judging daily from 7-7:30 in the Library. • TOMORROW (Wed.) – Camo or Neon Day • Thursday, Oct. 3 – Class Color Day • Sr-Black, Jr-White, Soph.-Yellow, Freshman-Green, Staff-Orange • Friday, Oct. 4 – Spirit (Black & Yellow) Day • Saturday, Oct. 5 – Semi Formal Dance, 8-11 pm • No jeans or t-shirts!

  6. HOMECOMING INFORMATION • Homecoming buttons ($1), t-shirts ($10; $12 for XXL), and dance tickets ($5 pre-sale and $10 at the door) are on sale daily during lunches, ending 2:30 Friday afternoon. • All detention time must be served to attend the dance. If you are inviting someone who doesn’t attend HHS, you must complete a dance guest form in the office.

  7. Vote on Naviance! • Vote for 2013 Homecoming King, Queen, Prince & Princess thru Thursday at 2:15. • Vote on Naviance, during lunch or on your own. • Computers available in the Media Center.

  8. Attention Musical Tech Crew: • Musical Tech crew meets TODAY (Tues.) and TOMORROW (Wed.) at 6pm. • Be prepared to work.

  9. RWDCReal World Design Challenge Students interested in being on the RWDC team this year should see Mr. Lundin in RM.408 ASAP

  10. Link Crew Members: • The Middle School is in need of 30 Link Leaders to help at their 7th grade Courage retreat on Oct 8th.    • See Mr. Ellefson or check your email in Naviance to sign-up. 

  11. Key Club members: • Check your email in Naviance to sign-up to be in the Homecoming Parade and or to work at the Katty Werthmann Event.

  12. Attention FFA Members: • Reminder: FFA Butter braid order forms are due to Mrs. Rada by TODAY (Tues.).

  13. Math Lab • Math lab schedule: • TODAY (Tues.) from 2:15 – 4:00 in Ms.  Dobratz - Room(226) • Thursday from 2:15 – 4:00 in Ms. Dobratz - Room(226)

  14. Are you interested in going to the U – Twin Cities or Duluth? • Representatives from the U of M Twin Cities and Duluth campuses will be here the TOMORROW EVENING (Wed.) to meet with ANY interested students AND parents.  • These representatives will be going over things like best high school preparation, admission criteria, application process and deadlines, transferability between campuses, the importance of world language in high school, and many other topics.  • The meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. in the HS auditorium.  ALL students and parents are welcome!

  15. College visits next week: • TOMORROW (Wed.) • U of M – Twin Cities – 1:30 • Thursday, Oct. 3rd • St. Ben’s/St. John’s – 10:30

  16. Attention FFA Members: • Any FFA member competing at the University of Minnesota on October 8 must be signed up with Mrs. Rada by TOMORROW (Wed.) at 3:00 p.m. • Events are Dairy Cattle, General Livestock, Poultry, Horse, and Soils.

  18. Activities Fundraiser • Sunday, Oct. 6th • 11 am – 9 pm • Buffalo Wild Wings will donate 15% of all pre-taxed food sales, when ticket presented. • Tickets are available on the counter in the HS Office.

  21. 2012-2013 Yearbooks are here! • Didn’t pre-order a yearbook? You can get one in the Activities Office for $65. • Wanting to pick up a pre-ordered yearbook for a 2013 graduate? Graduates need to contact Lori first to give permission. • If questions, please stop in the Activities Office.

  22. Breakfast in Foyer • Check out the breakfast in the foyer from 7:10-7:30!

  23. Are you a high school (middle school) student who’s making a difference through volunteering? • If so, go to http://spirit.prudential.com to access the online application. •  The Prudential Spirit of the Community Award recognizes the top local, state and national volunteers. • The deadline for application is Tuesday, November 5, 2013.

  24. Register Your Electronic Devices! • In an effort to prevent theft, as well as increase the likelihood of retrieving stolen items, Officer Berry is offering students the opportunity to register their electronics with him. • Please see Officer Berry, Sarah or Kathy in the HS Office for the form!

  25. Juniors taking the ASVAB test on Thursday:  • Report right away to room 129 WITH pencils!  Attendance will be taken there.

  26. September “TOP DOG” • The REACH Program would like to congratulate Isaac Pilarski-Popp for earning "TOP Dog" for the month of September.  This award is for achievement in Relationships, Education, Accountablility, Character, and Hard work. • Great Job Isaac!!!

  27. Register for Spooky Sprint! • Reminder to register for the Spooky Sprint on October 26th.  Kids fun run, 5k race, National Guard Obstacle course and Rock climbing wall and breakfast by Zellas!!!! • Go to www.spookysprint.org to register!   • Awards for Best Costumes!   • Time to get your SPOOK on!

  28. Picture Re-Take Day • Monday, Oct. 14 • Times and location to be determined yet! • Students - If you haven’t had your picture take yet this year, please do so at this time. If you want a re-take, please make sure to return your packet when you have your new picture taken! • Seniors – if you want a current ID, you must have your picture taken on this day. New ID’s will not be printed for student who haven’t had their pictures taken this fall. • Staff – this is your last chance to have your picture taken for a 2013-2014 ID and to have a current picture in the yearbook and on Campus! All staff are required to wear a current ID.
