  4. SNAPSHOT LATINAPSO had for WPD 2020 : • 39 urban actions (56% more than in 2009) • 60 TV apperarances (50% more than in 2009) • 70 radio appearances (27% more than in 2009) • 103 notes and interviews on written press and internet (34% more than in 2009)

URBAN ACTIONS All Associations in LATINAPSO together prepared 39 urban actions for WPD (56% more than last year) on 19 cities • Argentina: Córdoba, Santa Fe, Tucumán, Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata • Brasil: Brasilia, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador de Bahia, São Paulo • Colombia: Cali, Manizales y Medellín • Ecuador: Quito • El Salvador: San Salvador • Panamá: Ciudad de Panamá • Puerto Rico: San José • Venezuela: Caracas

URBAN ACTIONS • Live music with delivery of leaflets and T-shirts, in Salvador de Bahia (Brasil), • Public party with traditional music and theatre in Quito (Ecuador) • Events for doctors, patients, families and press in Salvador de Bahia, as well as conference-talks at public hospitals in Fortaleza, Argentina, • Street parade and patining on bare feet in Medellín, Manizales y Cali (Colombia). • Awareness walk in Fortaleza (Brasil), Quito (Ecuador) and Panamá.

URBAN ACTIONS • Information stands for the distribution of informative material and medical advice in the city center in Porto Alegre (Brazil) in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) • Delivery of free information at bus stops in San Salvador (El Salvador) • Educational meeting, press conference at open air, in front of the beach in Puerto Rico • Inline skating in group in Buenos Aires and Mar del Plata (Argentina)

  9. MEDIA All together, Associations member of Latinapso were present on: • 49 TV channels • 45 radios • 34 newspapers • 18 internet sites (excluding Associations` websites and Latinapso website)

  12. WRITTEN PRESS AND INTERNET All together LATINAPSOAssociations were named or interviewed 103 times on written press and internet (34% more than previous year) in 34 newspapers and 18 sites of Latin America:

OTHER ACTIVITIES There were as well: • 47 open conference-talks • 26 participation at Fairs and Congress • 26 interactive workshops for general public • 17 additional activities: presss conferences, presentation of videos and books about psoriasis, premiere of institutional videos of some Associations, posters and stickers stamping, days of free medical advice

IDEAS FROM THE WORKSHOSP ABOUT WPD FROM 2nd MEETING OF LATINAPSO (May 2010) • All Associations said to have taken advantage of the ideas gathered at the Brainstorming sessionat the 2nd Meeting of LATINAPSO • Some Associations copied the slogans, other the ideas for urban actions (balloons, awareness walks) or activities for children • To be remarked: all Associations are aware of the need of effectively communicate their message, adapting it depending on the public (patients, doctos, industry, media, etc.)

CHALLENGES FOR WPD 2011 • Associations point as challenges for next year: • Professional training for actions with governments (petitions, etc.) • Having lager budget for more urban actions • Interactive workshop for media at 3rd Meeting of Latinapso • Strategy of communication at Latinapso on the whole region • Begin in 2010 to prepare the WPD 2011

  17. BRASIL – UNAPSOAsociación de Psoriasis de Brasil • Event in the Brazilian press Association, where there were presented films about the disease, with conferences of doctors and patients. • The president of UNAPSO BRAZIL gave a speech to present the newly created UNAPSO.

BRASIL – ABRAPSEAsociación Brasiliense de Psoriasis • Information activitiy in coordination with the Secretariat of Assistência Médica Social – (Sams), Hospital Universitário de Brasília- HUB, Sociedade Brasileira de Dermatologia – SBD y Associação Brasiliense de Psoríase – (Abrapse). Place: Senado Federal (National Congress) • Release of the 4th edition of brochure “Combatendo a psoríase com informações” (Fighting psoriasis with information)
