Toleranţa • (lat.: tolerare = a suporta) este un termen social, etic şi religios aplicat la o colectivitate sau la un individ, care defineşte respectul libertăţii altuia, a modului său de gândire şi de comportare, precum şi a opiniilor sale de orice natură (politice, religioase etc.). Toleranta inseamna bunul simt de a nu fi egoist si a intelege ca ceva ce pentru tine este poate lipsit de importanta pentru altul vine pe primul loc. Lipsa tolerantei este egoism iar egoismul este sursa tuturor relelor din lume. [dexonline.ro]
