  13. STEPHANIE CARTER Yr 12 2007 I believe that the work the United Nations is currently doing through UNIFEM and the work that ZONTA International is also doing, is crucial in raising the profile of women and in fighting for gender equality worldwide. By focusing on generating strategies and programs to promote the empowerment and advancement of women, these organisations are helping to lead the global fight for women’s rights. I believe such organizations are the key to combating gender inequality and the lack of education for females because they act as a uniting, motivating force that encourages women to use their collective ‘voice’ to demand change. It is exciting to think that if enough women are equipped with the knowledge, education and empowerment to demand change and to use their collective ‘voice’, the advancements we can make are limitless.
