  2. Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Events in 2008: • Hong Kong will host the Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Events in 2008. Equestrian sport is an elegant, competitive sport with a long history, involving the partnership between riders and horses. It is the only Olympic sport where a human being cooperates with an animal in competition, and one of the very few where men and women compete on an equal footing. • The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is the quarantine and veterinary authority for the importation and re-exportation of the equestrian horses. To help discharge the quarantine and veterinary activities for the forthcoming Equestrian Events, the department is now looking for experienced veterinarians to perform such duties in the capacity of a “Senior Veterinarian” or “Veterinarian”.
