  2. Stats • UD used 154,000 metric tons of carbon emissions, 262 million HWHrs total!  In 2008. • $28.8 million in electricity. (equivalent) • 78% building/heating/lighting/power etc. • 21.5% transportation • 0.4% other (food services, landscaping, waste)

  3. How much is this? •  Current Trend: 15% increase, 182K MT CO2 • $34 million in electricity

  4. Pres. Harker’s Goal • Announced on Green Day 2009 • Twenty in 2020 • Target is 20% less in 2020, which means that we are looking to 123 MT • Change from trend would mean approx. 33% less energy than current path • Represents $11.3 million

  5. Current Projects  • 1 Million KWR savings in variable heating systems ($110K) • 650,000 KWHr. for garage lighting, trim to 350,000 KWHr. ($40K) • Classroom Lighting • McDowell – Central Mgmt. • Motion Detectors • Timers • People – Security Escorts • Difficulty of incentives • Units not charged for electriciy • Dorm Competitions • Lounge Suggestions (Timers)
