  2. Subject: G. Science Topic: Invertebrates

  3. Classification of invertebrates • Phylum protozoa • Phylum porifer • Phylum coelenterata • Phylum platyhelminthes • Phylum nematoda • Phylum annelida • Phylum arthropoda • Phylum mollusca • Phylum echinodermata

  4. 21st Century Approaches 21st Century Skills • Observing & Monitoring • Giving Direction Skills • Listening & Speaking • Questioning Skills • Interviewing Skills • Encouraging Skills • Evaluating • Survey / Research • Debate / Discussion • Story Telling • Guest Speaker • Quiz • CompetitionArgument

  5. Objectives • To make children classify animals into two groups. • To make them define or explain vertebrates and invertebrates. • To make them distinguish between vertebrates and invertebrates. • To make them research on the characteristics of invertebrates. • To make them debate on different classes of invertebrates. • To make them draw a chart of groups or phyla on invertebrates. • To ask them to prepare a project on at least one animal of each group of invertebrates. • To make them argue on habitat/food/locomotion of invertebrates. • To encourage them by competing them together. • To assess them by giving worksheets. • To evaluate them by giving them a quiz.

  6. ANALYSIS: • Classify animals into two groups. • Define or explain vertebrates and invertebrates. • Differentiate between vertebrates and invertebrates. • Debate on different classes of invertebrates.

  7. SYNTHESIS: • Research on different animals on internet. • Make a chart or a flow diagram on classes of invertebrates. • Prepare a model on habitat/food/locomotion of invertebrates

  8. ASSESSMENT / EVALUATION: • Children can be evaluated by giving them worksheet. • By giving them a quiz. • By making them argue on concerned topic.
