  2. LONGTERMGOALS • Adopt 21st century teaching approaches to help learn and practice critical thinking, communication, collaboration and problem solving skills.

SHORT TERM GOALS • Change my questioning strategies with students to promote critical thinking • Designing tasks to provide more opportunities to students to enhanced their effective communication skills along with confidence. • More group and pair work to enhance collaboration and cooperation among students • setting tasks to develop problem solving skills

  4. INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES AND TASKS • I will provide more opportunities for students to answer questions that require higher order thinking • I will provide students with time for group discussion and presenting their ideas to class • I will set challenging problem solving tasks and activities

SOLUTIONS TO ANTICIPATED CHALLENGES • SOLUTIONS • Handling a large class through group and pair work strategy can help manage and enhance students’ performance. • Group and pair work can again be an effective resource to make the most out of them CHALLENGES • LARGE CLASS A large class comprising of approximately 70 students can be very challenging to handle and complete the goals, tasks and activities. • MIXED-ABILTY CLASS A class comprising of different ability groups can again be a challenge to mange

  8. CONCLUSION • By implementing my newly acquired 21st century teaching approaches students will be empowered to communicate confidently, think critically and solve daily life issues creatively.
