  5. In the August 2008 a report by the Black AIDS Institute stated the AIDS epidemic in the African American populace is comparable to the global AIDS epidemic. The findings were that the United States Government and multiple foundations abroad were rendering aid to countries that have lower incidence of AIDS than the African American communities.

  6. If all of the African Americans in the United States made up one country they would rank number 9 in the African countries with the highest H.I.V/A.I.D.S rates and number 16 in the entire world.

  7. In 2003 President Bush began a program called President’s Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). It targets 15 countries with the highest H.I.V/A.I.D.S rates and increases services and supports for people living with H.I.V/A.I.D.S.
