  1. Brad the Bear Goes to the Art Museum By Casey Love

  2. Today's Lesson: Art Once there was a bear named Brad. His favorite subject at school was art. He loved to draw and paint.

  3. Today's Lesson: Art One day his teacher, Mrs. Humphrey, said, “Paintings can make you feel different things.”

  4. “Some make you feel happy, and others can make you feel sad.”

  5. “Some make you feel happy, and others can make you feel sad.”

  6. Today's Lesson: Art Brad loved looking at the pictures. Then Mrs. Humphrey said, “Today, we are taking a trip to the art museum.”

  7. Aa Bb Cc Dd Ee Ff Gg “Wow!” thought Brad. “Now I get to see a whole building full of great paintings! Let’s Go!”

  8. “While we walk through the museum, think about how the paintings make you feel.”

  9. “So Brad, how does this painting make you feel?” said Mrs. Humphrey. Brad thought and then said, “It makes me happy because I like to have picnics like in the painting.”

  10. “It makes me happy, too,” said Mrs. Humphrey. “What about that painting over there?” So they all went to look at the other painting.

  11. “That painting makes me sad,” Sarah said. “Look at that poor dog’s eyes!”

  12. “That painting makes me sad,” Sarah said. “Look at that poor dog’s eyes!”

  13. “I don’t think it’s sad,” said Alice. “It makes me happy because it looks like my dog.” Brad knew both girls were right.

  14. AHHH! As they continued, Alex saw a painting that scared him, so he ran away. But Brad didn’t think it was too scary.

  15. Mrs. Humphrey found Alex hiding behind a statue. “It’s only a painting,” she said comfortingly. “Let’s go join the rest of the class.”

  16. ??? As they got back to the class, Mrs. Humphrey noticed that Brad looked puzzled.

  17. “This painting makes me confused,” said Brad looking up. Everybody agreed with Brad. What did the painting mean?

  18. “Ok,” said Mrs. Humphrey at the end of the day, “let’s get back on the bus to school.” When everyone was on the bus, it left the museum.

  19. That night, Brad dreamed about all the paintings he had seen that day. He felt different when he looked at each one.

  20. The next day at school, Mrs. Humphrey told them they would be painting their own pictures. Brad was so excited.

  21. Brad was so happy, he painted a picture to match just how he felt.

  22. When he was finished, Brad showed his painting to the class. “It looks really happy,” Alex exclaimed. Brad knew he had done a great job.

  23. From then on, Brad painted every day. You could always tell how he was feeling by looking at his paintings.
