  5. PERSONAL DISASTERS Personal disasters such as house fire typically affect a single family or apartment. Red Cross can provide: Food, shelter, clothing and other essential supplies for the first 72 hours Blankets, hygiene kits (toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, etc.), stuffed animals, colouring books, and referrals RED CROSS ROLE DURING DISASTERS

  8. LARGER DISASTERS – EMERGENCY AND EARLY RECOVERY Reception Centre management and support Shelter management and support Home clean-up Family Reunification Distribution of relief items Financial assistance Community grants RED CROSS ROLE DURING DISASTERS

  9. LARGER DISASTERS – RECOVERY Ongoing financial assistance for families Funding for community projects Emotional support Reconstruction Major and minor repairs to homes RED CROSS ROLE DURING DISASTERS
