What is Angel Investing? • Angel investors are wealthy individuals with business or technology backgrounds who provide entrepreneurs with capital, connections, and guidance. • Individual angels invest between $5,000 and $100,000 in local and regional ventures. • Angel investment groups typically invest between $10,000 and $2,000,00

Tech Coast angel model – they have over 250 members Approaching 3 years of operation Five investments, with two additional pending – all Nebraska deals Currently 40 members (Lincoln / Omaha / Kearney) 12 member Board of Directors PT Executive Director Monthly dinner meetings with 2 companies presenting Screening committee meets every few weeks Utilize Angelsoft platform to manage deal flow $1,500 annual dues – pays for all dinner events and services Member of the Angel Capital Association (“ACA”) The Nebraska Angels, Inc. (“NAI”)

  5. Invest Nebraska will assist in the development of 5 Regional/Community investment groups in 2009 • Local investors making local investment in new start ups and/or existing businesses

Regional Investor Groups – Key Issues PURPOSE: • Enrich the entrepreneurial landscape in the state of Nebraska • Boost technological progress in the state of Nebraska • Create valuable jobs / reduce “brain drain” • Invest in high quality, high impact potential opportunities • Harvest investments with high success; profitable andcontagious TYPES OF DEALS: • Strong preference for Nebraska-based companies (primarily, not exclusively) • Seeking capital investment at start up or growth stage of development • Company has sustainable competitive advantages; compelling business case • Experienced and local entrepreneurs; solid operational team
