Only 175 days to go… • Over the next 10 months you will: • Complete your final credits to graduate • Finish your Community Involvement hours • Apply to college or university • Begin an apprenticeship • Plan your gap year • Look for financial assistance (scholarships, OSAP) • Begin your life after high school…

  5. Step 1: Make sure you are graduating! • Check your CCS/Book your Grad Game Plan Interview • 30 credits, 18 compulsories (**on-line or ILC courses**) • No? SEE US NOW!!! • Literacy requirement • No? SEE US NOW!!! • 40 hours Community Involvement • No? Get to work…see the board outside Student Services • APRIL 1 DEADLINE

  6. Step 2:Make sure you are prepared • University entrance • Best 6 “U” or “M” level courses • Course requirements? (included in calculation of 6 best) • College entrance • Overall average • ALL programs require 12 “C” English

Step 3:Make a plan • Book an appointment with Ball or Weichel • Research college programs @ www.ontariocolleges.ca • Research university programs @ www.electronicinfo.ca • Research every option at www.careercruising.com • Plan to attend the University Fair • September 28 - 30 • Metro Toronto Convention Centre

  8. Leaving PSHS Friday, September 27th at 9:00 am • Home by 9:00 pm • $30 per person • First 46 students with money and permission forms will get a seat • Details available at www.ouf.ca

Step 4:Applying and Application deadlines • University • Application process begins after you receive your PIN number in mid-late November. • Last day to apply: January 15, 2014 • College • Application process begins in late October • Last day to apply with “equal consideration”: February 1, 2014 • If you only do ONE THING on time this year, make sure it is your college or university application!

  13. Step 6:Take Control • Review the resources • Review your CCS • Sign up for the visits • Get on the bus • Attend class and do your best • Marks count!
