  5. Fast-food Facts • Serves about 50 million Americans every day • Distance from schools • Cost of a meal • 1,500 calories per meal • Hamburger weighs 6oz • McDonalds Big Mac 590 calories

  6. Continued • 7 Hours walking to burn off a supersize Big Mac meal • Only seven items on the McDonalds menu contains no sugar • McDonalds represent 43% of the fast food market

  7. Fast Food and Children • gains6 extra pounds from fast food consumption • 1/3 eat fast food on a regular basis

  8. Effects On Children • High sugar levels= type 2 Diabetes • Saturated fats leads to Cholesterol (LDL) • Salts lead to High Blood Pressure • Prone to illness-Fatigue, tiredness, no appetite, vitamin deficiency
