  1. Complete DNA draft-ietf-dna-protocol-08 Sathya Narayanan

  2. Status • Document was on Standards track • After consensus call at IETF71 and on the mailing list there was consensus to publish the document as Informational or Experimental • Slightly more people wanted Informational • Since Informational documents cannot request codepoints a new revision of this document was necessary

  3. Changes in -08 (2) • Goal of the document changed • From becoming a solution protocol to documenting design decisions • Title changed • From “Detecting Network Attachment in IPv6 Networks (DNAv6)” to “Design document for Detecting Network Attachment in IPv6 Networks (DNAv6 Design)” • Removed all the modified message formats since this document does not seek to change any ND messages • Added a data structures section that describes the kind of data structures a host might need to use

  4. Changes in -08 • Removed ND options • Landmark • Learned prefix • Removed text about tentative option • Spun off into a separate document since it is used by oDAD. • Removed IANA considerations

  5. Way forward • Will be WGLCed and be reclassified for publication as Informational RFC • Timeline to be agreed with AD • May or may not be progressed at the same time as Simple DNA
