  4. GREENHOUSE GASES trap and absorb heat from the sun into the atmosphere.

  5. Greenhouse Gases • The Top 3 Greenhouse gases are: • Water Vapor (Water in Gas form) • Carbon Dioxide (CO2) • Methane

  6. CO2 Increase since 1960

  7. Change in temperature by 1995-2004

  8. Atmosphere of Venus • Venus has about as much gas as Earth. • Venus’s atmosphere is made mostly of CO2 (95%) • Is this hotter or colder than earth? Holds in much more heat than it gives off, so much hotter than earth.

  9. Atmosphere of Mars • Mars has same amount of Sun exposure as Earth. • Mars has much thinner atmosphere than Earth. Thin atmosphere mostly made of CO2. • Would this be Hotter or Colder than Earth?

  10. Atmosphere of Mars Hotter during the day, colder nights. Because little atmosphere to protect, but also little atmosphere to hold in heat.
