  2. Facts About Cargo Ships • Sea transport has been the largest carrier of freight throughout recorded history. • Transport by water is cheaper than transport by air. • Ship transport can be over any distance by, boat, ship, sailboat, or barge over oceans and lakes, through canals or along rivers.

  3. Input • Crewmen- 1 chief officer, 1 second officer, 1 third officer, 1 boatswain, 2-6 able seamen, 0-2 ordinary seamen • The people need to know how to repair the ship if need so and how to operate it if a member or members is hurt. • You will need a ship and walkie talkies to stay connected to what's happening around the ship. • Money will also be needed to buy fuel to power the ship. • Time will also be needed to get the cargo from point a to point b. One of the disadvantages of using ships as to using airplanes is that the ships take longer to get where they're going.

  4. Process • The ship is loaded with containers that have any type of goods in them to be shipped from one place to another. • The cargo lines make money for carrying the containers by the people or the company shipping the items. • The ship takes off and begins its journey to it’s next scheduled destination.

  5. Output • The ship arrives with all its contents and is unloaded by crane to the shipping dock. • Shipping materials by ship is not as environmentally friendly as some people would want it to be but is the best means of transportation and we cant have the materials we need without it.

  6. Feedback • Customers receive their product and are either satisfied or unsatisfied by the way the cargo either holding something bought, luggage, or needed is in good or bad condition when it arrives to them. • If the customer is pleased sales growth goes up as the company ships more materials through with your ship on its next voyage.
