  2. When looking at advertising you need to ask yourself a number of questions What are they trying to sell me? How are they trying to sell it to me? Why are they trying to sell it to me? It is important that as savvy consumers you are aware of the lengths that companies will go to sell you their product

Advertisements There are a number of things that advertisers try to do when creating an advertisement: Make Product Desirable Appeal to senses and emotions Sell through association (Celebrity endorsement) Aimed at a particular demographic (age group) Use language appropriate to target audience Verbal and non-verbal language

  4. Perfect looking Cigarete Celebrity /Endorsement Use of strong/forceful language Repetition of brand name Repetition of brand name Repetition of brand name

What elements of the advertisement are not successful? What is the point of having the celebrity endorsement? What is the use of using strong language? Is there any warnings published on the advertisement? Is much prominence given to this? Why/Why not?
