    7. What you need to be a good teacher (Do you have what it takes?) PATIENCE! PATIENCE! PATIENCE! Explain it a gazillion times many different ways Wait for that light bulb Presentation skills Make it interesting Personality Can’t be taught or learned Flexibility Be able to adjust and think on your feet You have to love it!

    11. What it takes to be a good department chair (I’m still trying to figure this out!) People skills Rapport and respect of colleagues Knowledge of policy Or at least where to look stuff up! Organizational skills There’s just a lot to do!
