  1. Need to transfer your domain and move your website to a new host? Maybe, you have got a better deal for domain registration. Whatever the reason, transferring a domain is a straightforward process. However, it may take many days to complete. Most of the work is done behind the scenes; you just need to fill out a few forms. Here are some essential points to know when transferring a domain name. Before going to transfer your domain name, make sure you have disabled the domain privacy services on your domain, removed locks that may be applied on your name, your registrant email address is accurate, etc. The processing time for transferring of a domain name depends on the Domain Registrar of your existing domain name. It may take 7 to 14 days. It’s always good to transfer your domain name well before it gets expired to make sure you don’t meet any complications. So, transfer the domain name before its expiry date.

  2. A Domain Registrar creates an authorization code designed to help identify the domain name holder and prevent unauthorized transfers. It is crucial for you as a domain holder to transfer a domain name from one registrar to another. You can receive the Code for your domain name from the Domain Registrar where you’ve registered your domain name. Has your domain expired with your old domain registrar and you’ve renewed it with them? If so, don’t transfer it within 45 days of the previous expiry date. It will not add one more year to your domain name, and you will lose out on the Renewal fees paid to the older Registrar. It’s important to know that the latest ICANN & Registry regulations prohibit the transfer of domain names that have been registered within the last 60 Days. Please wait for 60 days from the date of registration before applying for a transfer of such domain names. So, when you plan to transfer your domain name, make sure you are ready to transfer it.
