  1. B.Tech In Chemical Engineering Chemical engineering is a branch of engineering that involves various aspects of plant design and operation, including safety & hazard assessment, process design & analysis, control engineering, etc. The programme uses principles of chemistry, applied physics, life sciences, applied mathematics and economics to efficiently use, produce, transform and transport chemicals, materials and energy. Chemical engineering is also concerned with pioneering valuable new materials and techniques such as nanotechnology, fuel cells and biomedical engineering. It includes designing, improving and maintaining of the process that involves chemical or biological transformations for large-scale manufacturing purposes. The B.Tech in Chemical Engineering course covers subjects like - • Electrochemical engineering • Biomedical Engineering • Process Automation • Process Modelling and Simulation • Polymer and Plastics Technology • Drugs and Pharmaceuticals • Surface Coating Technology • Petrochemical Technology • Fertiliser Technology • Environmental Engineering Course duration: B.Tech in Chemical Engineering is a 4-year programme. However, it may vary depending on the university/institute. Eligibility criteria for B.Tech in Chemical Engineering: A candidate shall be eligible for admission in the B.Tech Chemical Engineering programme subject to the following conditions -

  2. B.Tech In Chemical Engineering 1. 10+2 with minimum qualifying marks in aggregate with physics, chemistry and mathematics as core subjects 2. Independent entrance tests for chemical engineering are also held by various state, central and private universities, mostly requiring 50% as the prerequisite to appear for the test Career Scope: Chemical industry has been showing huge potential and will continue to grow in near future. With its steady progress, it brings new job opportunities for engineering students. Chemical engineering jobs are high paying with several options in manufacturing industries like tyre manufacturing, food, nanotechnology, mining process, synthetic fibers, plastic, power production, nuclear energy, etc. You can also become a chemical engineering professor in top institutes or universities in India or abroad. Chemical engineers also have the opportunity to work in government sectors like defense establishment, atomic power plant, power conservation projects, recycling department or healthcare related projects. The Chemical Engineering graduates may take up the following roles in the above mentioned sectors - • Plant Managers • Production Engineer • Purchase and Quality Control Executive • Safety Management Officer Higher Education Prospects: In case you are planning to continue with higher studies, here are a few options to choose from - • Master of Technology in Chemical Engineering • Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering • Master of Technology in Dyestuff Technology • Master of Technology in Chemical Technology • Master of Technology in Chemical Synthesis and Process Technologies • Master of Technology in Bio Mineral Processing • Master of Technology in Surface Coating Technology • Master of Technology in Polymer Science • Master of Technology in Oils, Oleochemicals and Surfactants Technology • Master of Technology in Fibers and Textile Processing Technology • Post Graduate Diploma in Chemical Engineering Students will be taught through lectures, tutorials, seminars, computer practise sessions, practical laboratory work as well as both individual and group work. To excel in this field, one must manage complex projects in a wide range of fields such as mathematics, biochemistry and economics proving one’s business acumen and scientific nous.
