  1. Agricultural Engineering

  2. It is an important branch of engineering in a country like India which is essentially an agriculture-based country. Though there has been significant shift in focus from agriculture to industrial and service sectors, we cannot afford to lose sight of the fact that even now around about 70% of our vast population of around 120 cr. live in villages and for most of them farming is the only profession. We can very well realize that there is enormous scope of increasing the output of agricultural products by application of engineering methods of mechanized cultivation. The faculty members of agricultural engineering course teaches the students about application of specific machine, appliances and tools under specific conditions for increasing productivity of agricultural land. India is endowed with vest area of fertile land across the huge nation and taking advantages of the natural endowment for improving the quality of life of villagers and the nation is of prime importance for the country.

  3. The primary focus areas of agriculture engineering are:- • Increasing productivity of agricultural products & Research and development for producing various types of agricultural products and innovation of machinery, tools and implements which can revolutionise agricultural production through uses of state-of- the arts machinery  • In B.Tech (agricultural engineering) – a four years (eight semesters) degree course with approval from AICTE and affiliation with UPTU, focus is on study of soil mechanics, hydrology, climatic effects on agricultural production etc.Relevant topics of Civil and Mechanical Engineering are also a part of the university curriculum. With the government’s policy of focusing on growth of agriculture sector, the scope of finding jobs in reputed national and multinational companies will increase manifold in near future.Sanskriti Group of Institutions is offering B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering which is a course of 4 years duration approved by AICTE. This is a very popular course specially for the students from North-East. Many students from North-East region are studying in Sanskriti Institute of Management & Technology (SIMT). There is enough scope for their absorption in government organizations as agriculture is the thrust area in states like Mizoram. Even in other parts of India, students pursuing agricultural engineering have the prospect of getting employed in reputed organizations engaged in production of agricultural machinery and in agricultural departments of the state governments.
