  1. What is Cervical Implant and how it is used in Spine Surgery Our medical care industry has gone so far achieving many significant surgical milestones with the help of latest and precise medical equipment. Many a time, doctors recommend going for some critical surgery like spine surgery to dampen pain or to make things right due to accidental issue. However, the complexity and risk factor have been reduced significantly due to the use of technology and different implants methodology. This article discusses about the cervical implant and its use in spine surgery. Objective of cervical implant  By the use of decompression, it helps reducing pressure on any specific nerve(s)  Bring stability to the cervical spine. It is often done by fusing cervical vertebrae. The implant can be done both from anterior and posterior side. Here we are mostly been focusing on the anterior implant. Usage of cages and spacers Cages and spacers are two orthopedic implants. The purpose of using cages and spacers between two vertebrae is as follow: 1- To maintain gap between vertebrae. 2- Retain the spinal alignment. 3- Spinal fusion is possible. You can fuse vertebrae of any number as per the requirement using these implants.

  2. According to the requirement and setting, cages are available in different shape and size e.g., cylindrical and box shaped. The placement of cages is done between vertebrae of your spine. The material used for making cages are plastic, metal, bone, or carbon fibre. As mentioned above, the purpose of cages is to allow fusion of two or more vertebrae both above and below. Once the fusion is done, the stability of spine increases. In the other hand, a spacer is used for restoring the alignment of the bone structure. Usage of cervical plates Cervical plates are well attached to the front side of vertebrae due to which the stability of the cervical spine is increased soon after the surgery, the solid fusion can be successfully done. Plates are attached using screw and in most of the cases, the material used is titanium. If you want to know more about the material or equipment used in the surgery, then it’s better to get in touch with a cervical implants supplier, or spine instruments suppliers, or spine implant supplierswho can give you a better answer to your query. It is now safer to go for a spine surgery due to all the technological advancement. So, if you have decided to go for the same, you need to be relaxed.
