  1. Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD) Pilot Plant ATFD is an ideal apparatus for continuous processing of concentrated material into dry solids. The device consists of a cylindrical and vertical body covered with a heating jacket. Equipped inside is a row of pendulum blades that spread the wet feed product in the form of a thin film. ATFD machines are highly-required in Pharmacy companies, textile industries, agrochemical industries, sugar industries, and effluent treatment plant. Due to its intrinsic design feature, the ATFD is an ideal solution for thermal treatment and heat sensitive products wherein low operating temperatures and vacuum operating pressures are required.   2. Vertical ATFD Drying Operation • ATFD can typically be defined as an indirect continuous heating dryer. As discussed earlier, the tube feed varies as per the client’s wish. However, the vertical AFTD is the most-sought and reliable pilot plant because of its efficiency and durability. While operating, the vertical AFTD rotor revolves at a very high speed. This results in the separation of mixtures inside the feed distributor that spreads uniformly at the top of the cylinder. The rotor blades then pick up the material and spread it in a thin film over a heated surface. This result in the separated solution turned into dry powder as the end-product.
