  • Photographs—Help convey the emotion or essence of the story

Techniques and Aestheticsfor Gathering Images

  • Picture composition (framing)

  • Three basic shots:

    • Long shot

    • Medium shot

    • Close-up

  • Rule of thirds

  • Eye space

  • Depth of field
